They Blamed Me Because I Am Asian: Findings from reported anti-AAPI youth incidents

Youth led initiative with Dr. Russell Jeung heading the internship (co-founder Stop AAPI Hate). It educates and empowers youth on prevalent issues AAPI community face. In the summer of 2020, the Stop AAPI Hate Youth Campaign (“the Youth Campaign”) interviewed 990 AAPI young adults across the United States about their experiences and feelings related to racism during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our key findings and recommendations stem from that data. 

PEER TALK: ELEVATING THE VOICES OF ASIAN ACTORS

In light of the recent increase in anti-Asian hate, this interactive discussion delved into the experiences of Asian actors in a predominantly white industry. The panelists discuss their career and achievements and share about their personal experiences as Asian Americans. Attendees gained new perspectives and drew inspiration from the AAPI community in television and film. The featured speakers include Tamlyn Tomita (Joy Luck Club, Karate Kid), Hudson Yang (Fresh Off the Boat), Aubrey Anderson (Modern Family), Ella Basco (Birds of Prey), Miya Cech (The Darkest Minds, Rim of the World), and Crystal Kung-Minkoff (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills).

Empowering AAPI Voices - October 2023

Emerson Min is a featured panel speaker at the Silicon Valley Asian Film Festival with West Mulholland. It will be moderated by  Mina Na Rae Fedor (Founder of AAPI Youth Rising) in a discussion on empowering AAPI youth voices. Come to the Q&A in Silicon Valley October 21, 2023!
